About Hobby Horsing USA
About the History of Hobby Horses
Hobby horse riding (hobby horsing) has existed for centuries as a fun children’s activity for movement and play. Hobby horses have appeared in paintings as far back as the 16th century and hobby horses were featured in a Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme. Hobby horses, in the past, were used in traveling plays and shows across Europe, Asia, and North America. Today, Finland leads the way with large enthusiastic hobby horsing events that are now spreading across Europe. Hobby horsing enthusiasts often create their own custom hobby horse, give their horses names similar to racehorses, engage in hobby horsing demonstrations and choreograph hobby horse movement to songs.
